about

““★★★★ 1/2” Hard driving and intense, swirling and visceral” –ALL MUSIC GUIDE (July 1998)“dense, swirling layers of guitar noise which owe at least as much to the British shoegazer crowd as
anything from the ‘60’s” –JERSEY BEAT (#63, Falll ‘98) “ten shots of intoxicating symphonies from the stoned underbelly of the space-rock continuum”
–PTOLEMAIC TERRASCOPE (#25, 1998) “Two volumes of fuzzed-out overdrive, droning acid folk and yeah, S3 references.” –MAGNET (#53, 1998)
Terrastock review- “One of the most well-received bands were Hoboken’s Tadpoles..the most classically “psychedelic” of any band at the festival and the the same time, the most polished. “
–JERSEY JOURNAL (Jim Testa, May 3, 1997) Terrastock review- “...Tadpoles succesfully crossed Pink Floyd and My Bloody Valentine.”
–LOS ANGELES FREE TIMES (May, 1997)
“(They have) succeeded yet again in producing a very convincing psychedelic beauty full of hazy, magic rock sounds, journeys through space, adventures in Syd Barrett’s garden and zonked atmospheres, a perfect balance between tripped-out vibes and immaculate acoustics...Recommended.” –CROHINGA WELL (Belgium, #15, May 1999)
“A lot of psych rock bands tend to play the same song over and over. Not these guys. Every track has a new riff and a new feel to it. ” –FRESH COW PIE (#2, Fall 1998)
“Fills a room with swirling smoke and fuzz and dreamy galactic vocals that defy any principle of gravity – you will absolutely float when you play this” –EYE (#17, Aug/Sept ‘98)
“For their classically strange acid pop and surreal poetry, Tadpoles can claim the crown of reigning drug rock kings.”–OUTSIGHT (www.rocklove.com 1998)
“the third studio album from the best American psychedelic band I’ve heard...” –FACE MAGAZINE(Undertones September 13, 1998)
“Tadpoles don’t sound like anyone else, which is not only unusual, but immensely gratifying...indie tinged, psyche spacerock, lovingly crafted and performed stylishly...” –ZEITGEIST(Scotland,Vol 3, #7, 1998)
